FEMA – Incident Command System Training:
ARES suggests and highly recommends taking ICS courses for those wanting to participate in public service events assisting our served agencies.
ICS 100, 200, 700, & 800, are available at the website listed below as online self study, generally lasting 1 hour.
ICS 300 & 400 are required to be considered to work inside most EOC’s. These are offered periodically by local EMAs, as “in classroom only”. Taught over multiple days, they are much more in depth and interactive, utilizing scenario based learning.
A “Certificate of Completion” will be issued for each course and a copy is to be kept on file by your county ARES Emergency Coordinator..
